Description
My name is Donna, and I am an experienced female carer.
My background is in mental health nursing,however I have also worked within people's homes,hospitals and also residential care settings.
I have had the privilege of caring for individuals with a variety of needs, including those with Cognitive Impairment, Parkinson's Disease,MS,Learning disability,Dementia and Traumatic brain injury.
I have up to date training in manual handling,infection control,safeguarding,mental capacity act,first aid/basic life support and medication management.
I enjoy getting to know people,am friendly and approachable,reliable and trustworthy and will always work to the very best of my abilities to provide the care that you need.
I am happy to assist in personal care including bathing,toileting and hoisting.
I also provide assistance with meal preparation and feeding,cleaning,medication reminders,trips out for appointments/leisure time and companionship.
I have two children of 15 and 13 and enjoy my family time.
Therefore my preferred hours of work are Monday-Friday mornings from 7am until mid afternoon (ideally I would like to be available for my children from around 3pm).
I provide hourly care and am available during school holidays.
I am also available for sleeping night shifts upto three nights a week.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending my time taking long walks, solving puzzles, reading books, and listening to music,I also enjoy meditation and relaxation.
I have a ragdoll cat at home and I am very comfortable around cats and other domestic pets.
As a caring, friendly, and helpful person, I enjoy assisting individuals in leading independent lives. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling and autonomous life.
I have my own car so I am able to ensure that my clients have the freedom to maintain their social lives and attend medical appointments, making their lives more enjoyable and convenient.
